Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea : Season 1 Disc 1 (1964)

Colorized Version

Incl. episodes 1-4 and 3 Promo commercials

Voyage chronicled the adventures of the world's first privately owned nuclear submarine, the SSRN Seaview. Designed by Admiral Harriman Nelson, she was a tool of oceanographic research for the Nelson Institute of Marine Research. Though the show is known for its "monster" episodes, many plots were veiled commentaries of what was happening in the news. Such plotlines as nuclear doomsday, pollution of natural resources, foreign threat, and theft of American technology are all still relevant today.

1. Eleven Days To Zero

In exactly eleven days there will be a terrible polar earthquake. The resulting tidal wave could destroy civilization. The Seaview is dispatched for damage control. Certain enemy forces also go there to upset the Seaview's mission.

2. The City Beneath The Sea

A research vessel vanishes during a routine mission near an island off Greece. Another ship is sent to investigate, and also disappears without a trace. Now the Seaview pays a visit. They find nothing, but a local fisherman claims to know of a 'city beneath the sea'.

3. The Fear-Makers

The Seaview continues the secret underwater explorations that another sub was on when it mysteriously disappeared.

4. The Mist Of Silence

The Seaview arrives at an ocean rendezvous to pick up a Latin-American president, but the ship it meets is empty.
