Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea : Season 1 Disc 2 (1964)

Colorized Version

Incl. episodes 5 - 8

Voyage chronicled the adventures of the world's first privately owned nuclear submarine, the SSRN Seaview. Designed by Admiral Harriman Nelson, she was a tool of oceanographic research for the Nelson Institute of Marine Research. Though the show is known for its "monster" episodes, many plots were veiled commentaries of what was happening in the news. Such plotlines as nuclear doomsday, pollution of natural resources, foreign threat, and theft of American technology are all still relevant today.

5. The Price Of Doom

A scientist on a research facility in Antarctica discovers a new form of sea plankton that turns monstrously large and aggressive if exposed to heat. After the scientist mysteriously disappears, the Seaview is sent in to investigate.

6. The Sky Is Falling

A U. F. O. has been spotted flying around the United States, terrifying people and violating every airspace regulation in the book. It falls into the sea, which, after another ship is destroyed investigating it, the Seaview is ordered to check it out.

7. Turn Back The Clock

A lone survivor of a doomed Antarctic expedition is rescued. The Seaview takes him and a women photographer to see if there really is a dinosaur laden tropical paradise somewhere in the Antarctic.

8. The Village Of Guilt

In the fjords of a small Norwegian fishing village, a small boat manned by three drunken fishermen is attacked by what appears to be a giant sea monster. When Admiral Nelson hears of this, he is fascinated by it and takes the Seaview to Norway to investigate and interview the one survivor. The villagers are not happy to see them and reluctant to talk and answer questions. Someone is so desperate to keep their silence that the survivor is murdered before he could talk. With no one willing to talk, Nelson is preparing to leave when they discover evidence of giant sea life. Nelson is determined to solve this mystery.
