Judge Priest (1934)
Set in 1890's Kentucky, Confederate War veteran Judge Priest (Will Rogers) dispenses justice, matchmaking and friendship amid the small-town drama of the post-Civil War south. The plot revolves around the trial of a mysterious Virginian accused of an assault on a local townsfolk. A big step away from his usual early Westerns, John Ford considered this movie his favorite.
