The Scarlett O'Hara War (1980)
Tony Curtis plays David O Selznick who after buying the rights to Gone with the Wind inaugurated a publicity stunt to find his Scarlett O'Hara. The Search became a national phenomenon, covering every state and lasting for months.
This wonderful movie depicts that search perfectly. Tony Curtis portrays the flamboyant David O Selznick, Harold Gould as Louis B Mayer also Edward Winter as Clark Gable, Sharon Gless as Carole Lombard and Barrie Youngfellow as Joan Crawford, plus a host of other movie star depictions. A must for movie fans a movie about a movie which involved one of the best publicity campaigns ever.
