When a steamer needs to be repaired, a quartet of international crooks and a seemingly innocent couple are stranded en route to Africa where they are secretly trying to buy land with uranium deposits. This film was intended by Huston as a tongue-in-cheek spoof of his earlier masterpiece, The Maltese Falcon, and films of the genre.
