In a quiet suburban English town, beautiful Molly Stevens is strangled on a quiet road and it falls to Scotland Yard Inspector Halloran (John Mills, Great Expectations) to investigate. Suspicion falls on several of the townsfolk, including the old country doctor (Charles Coburn, The Lady Eve), but several clues point to a religious fanatic, whose actions were in response to repressed desire. John Guillermin (Death on the Nile) directs this tense suspense-drama - part noir, part police procedural - which will thrill aficionados of British mystery novels and TV's Masterpiece Mystery!
