Roy Orbison : Live From Australia 1972
This concert was held at The Festival Hall in Melbourne, Australia, on October 3rd, 1972. Originally aired only on Australian television in 1973, this footage has remained unavailable until now.
For the very first time, we see the legendary Roy Orbison in this rare concert footage filmed during his four-month 1972 World Tour. The tour included stops in Holland, Germany, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Manila and Australia, with a final concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City in December 1972.
At this special Melbourne concert, Roy is backed by an entire orchestra in addition to his own band. From the band's introduction with the opening bars of "Only the Lonely" to the ovations after every single masterpiece, this dynamic performance is filled with Roy Orbinson's classic hits, great ballads, powerful rockers and rarities like "Land of 1000 Dances," "Sweet Caroline," and "Bridge Over Troubled Water."
This is the one-and-only Roy Orbison, one of the top rock'n'roll singers of all time, at the very top of his form.
